We are having a very odd and disconcerting season so far. the mullet turned up in march in the usual large numbers and then disapeared in april over night! The bass came in april and they too disapeared, seemingly overnight in may? Sewin have run, but not in their usual numbers, odd fish here and there seems to be the norm so far, quite a few are also displaying the disease that was prevalent last season. One fish i spotted in the ewenny last night circa 6lb was covered in it . I just hope things pick up. jon

It also begs the question with disapearing fish and low numbers of others, just how much netting and trawling is taking place?

I fished the high tide last Sunday evening for a bass but saw neither bass nor mullet - nothing moving at all. Then went up to swing bridge to have a go for a sewin but got no pulls, until a beautiful 8" grayling came to the net!

lovely fish there mate....with the state of non existant sewin and salmon stocks looks like that could be the future of this lovely river.stocked and wild brownies and grayling, and a hope one day things will improve ,but with no ea baliffs, and trawlers and netters doing massive damage to all fish stocks, cant see that ever happening....but we live in hope.........
