Huge credit to our head bailiff, Andrew, who sorted out a group of 3 ner-do-wells who appeared with spinning rods and floats and started to chuck lures in all around me as I was enjoying an afternoons' peace and dry fly fishing yesterday near the dipping bridge. When I asked if they were members I got a load of abuse and was just thinking of going when there was a soft whistle from the trees and there was the OAA's finest reassuring me that the police were on the way. Huge satisfaction when they did appear and took the bad guys off for questioning. Immense respect for Andrew - he's doing a really tough job and deserves great praise.

Police did show, sadly pretend ones who did not initially take names refused to confiscate equipment and did not carry out any pnc checks. This was their second outing on the river as they were in exactly the same place last weekend as I found the evidence on Monday along with the considerable amount of litter they had left on the bank. It is an uphill struggle I was verbally abused by a Garw member fishing our waters. A number of excuses were made none of witch I believe. He also listening through the many expletives could call anyone I liked bit he was not moving until he decided. Police or no. Sadly my mobile was in the house on charge but I doubt he would have taken any notice of PCSO's

Irrespective of whether the PCSO's are carrying out the formalities, it is a huge credit to this initiative that we are getting a speedy response from the Police to these incidents.
Not many angling clubs around Wales have such an initiative in place and manage to garner the support of so many officers (whether PC's or PCSO's).
Word get around........
and once again huge credit to Andrew.

yes it is good there was a police presence attended, but unfortunetly these people laugh at this they get caught and get sent on there way with no fine.....years ago if you poached the ogmore and got caught you got a fine...but now no ea baliffs about and joking police attending with no powers ...feel sorry for club baliffs seeing people get away time after time...its a shame you cant read gazette and see people in court over poaching the river...

well done to andrew and the (joking police). they may not be able to much, however them turning up and removing unlawfull anglers who have no permit no license is a massive plus for our waters. slag them off for that and you will get very little respect and NO HELP from the police unless there is an incident, they are helping our bailiffs to remove them at the end of the day lets not forget that!!!!!!!!!! the unlawfull anglers may come back but andrew and his mob will remove them again........ awesome job lads.
