It would be nice to know last year it was on the 16 June and my phone was red hot as a result. It is normally by the Rec and there was only one event. Ask the committee they've probably agreed to it like last year and not told anyone or the canoeists have decided to do it without informing anyone of their intensions.

The event on the weekend has been agreed by the Committee and will take place in the usual location near the Recreation Centre.
The other dates are being discussed at the next committee meeting and have yet to be decided upon.
Daicydweli I would be interested to know if you have got any ideas on how I would inform 400 members of these dates without having to spend 2 days stuffing envelopes and paying a few hundred pounds for stamps! (maybe with your postal service links you can loan me a envelope stuffing machine and arrange free delivery!)
Dates will be put on the website in due course (only a small percentage of the membership look at the website and are registered on the forum).

The forum is here for that purpose. I was embarrassed last year when I approached the organizers to be informed that permission had been granted. When I contacted a number of committee members they were not aware of the event. My fishing went out of the window on that day as I felt it my duty to the members that had contacted me to investigate.

Well look on the bright side TM at least last year's event delayed the fish being knocked out by giant rapalas for 24 hours.

The annual slalom event organised by Bridgend Canoe Club has been confirmed by the Committee and will take place on 29th and 30th June near the Recreation Centre.
In addition to this the Royal Air Force Cadets have been given permission to use this section of the river on the evening of the 17th June to practice for the above event.
The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service often carry out exercises underneath the M4 near Pen y Fai. The dates that they wish to use the river at this location are now being given to the Association to agree. To this end, the Committee have agreed that they can use the river for a training exercise on 19th August.
