Dear Council members I understand that the fishing rights dispute on the Ewenny and lower Ogmore has not yet been resolved. I also note that our on line maps of our fishery are described as a "guide only in an ever changing world". I love fishing the lower river and will be devastated if we have lost any water. I continue to get conflicting reports from our own members and local fishing shops. This is not helped by our maps being described as a guide only. I think all members should receive written confirmation of areas we own and lease and an update of progress in securing this water. We have been assured by the council that all this fishing is ours. Am I to assume this is still the case or am I poaching if I fish all the water on our maps. All the membership needs firm guidance on this matter A.S.A.P. I asked some months ago and have been patient, so I hope you can help. Thanking the council for all the work, sorry to go on about this one but It comes from the heart.. Daidragon.

Daidragon,
As previously stated, this issue will not be discussed by the Council on a public forum.
All members were sent a letter some time ago outlining the current situation. Those members that attended the half year meeting were given an indepth report regarding this situation. Latest developments will be communicated to members at official meetings which are well advertised.
I will repeat once again that members have been told to fish to the extent of our maps. Hear say amongst members on the riverbank and in local tackle shops should be regarded as just that.
The date of our AGM will be announced in due course where this issue will be discussed.
My previous offer remains that should any members wish to contact me by letter or telephone , I will be more than happy to oblige.

Could someone please clear up some confusion about the Ewenny fishing in the neighbourhood of the Ford factory? There are references to this water in the rules but the maps do not seem to show it.
mike
PS I disagree with the member who described grayling as the (grey I suppose) squirrels of the river at the AGM - but I personally very much like eating them and don't see why our rules should put them under extra protection compared with trout.

The Association shop is being finalised.
There are still minor items that need finalising and until the council are agreed, the pages won't go live. I am working on a satisfactory outcome and should have more news in the near future. Bare with me; I'd rather it be finalised than go off half ready.
If you have a suggestion that would make a suitable logo or for that matter, if anyone is a graphic design artist that specialises in vector graphics and they can design a suitable logo with minimal reference points, please contact me through the website.
