Just joined this season so I'd just thought I'd say hello ;D
Bit of a stranger to the Ogmore, although I used to work in Bridgend many moons ago...any suggestions about where to start?...is access to the river much of a problem?. I tried today about 400 yrds from the mouth of the estuary with no success...lots of anglers ledgering, is this part of the river usually productive?
Best wishes
Mark

Mark,
the lower reaches below the sewerage farm although belonging to the association are not enforced, therefore tends to get well fished.
It depends on what type of fishing you want. We obviously have over 12 miles of fishing upstream, most of it providing good brown trout sport and salmon and sewin when conditions are right.
If you are after some brown trout sport during the drier periods you will not go far wrong fishing any of our waters. The upper reaches are obviously stocked less due to a good wild brown trout population.

Thanks OAA1
Is access generally a relaxed thing?...farmer's fields etc?.

There is not much in the way of agricultural land adjoining the river but where there is there has never been problems. Access is generally good but obviously we would not recommend you walking through people's garden!
