Hi, As most poachers will be accessing the river by car or van so why not invest some money in Infrared Wildlife Camera with Motion Sensor's. These waterproof units are camouflaged and offer HD quality photo's or video up to 25 metres range and the batteries (rechargeable) last up to 2 weeks. Prices are circa £150+ vat so for a minimum fee we could have 3 and get them in place over the weekends or special areas known for poaching. Better still there are camera's that will send a text plus photo when triggered. www.flyonthewall.uk.com/hd-infrared-mobile-mms-wildlife-camera-dvr-motion-sensor-vga-16gb-p-598.html'This HD infrared MMS DVR wildlife camera will take photos or videos and then send an email or MMS picture message to your PC or mobile whenever it's motion sensor is triggered. It has built-in GSM mobile messaging that uses a standard SIM card and is ideal for capturing shots of wildlife, fly-tipping, vandalism or any sort of covert surveillance in remote areas where mains power or an internet connection is not practical. The remote wildlife camera takes 8 AA batteries and has a super low standby current (0.3mA) giving an incredible 3 months standby battery life (dependant upon activity) and an Ultrafast trigger of only 1 second. ' You could mount one of these in a tree to avoid theft and as they are well hidden unlikely to attract attention in the day and in the night it will be operating in infra red so no one will notice it. Also registering member car number plate details would allow the info captured to be cross referenced. Any non members who are fishing the river can then be contacted through tracing their vehicle details and a 'strong' letter reminding them of the 'We will prosecute all offenders caught poaching' will soon focus these idiots somewhat. Does this make sense or have I missed a point? Poachers are the scum of society and we all must do our best to kick these a**holes off our river.
