There’s been an expensive day/night monitoring camera situated between the Cow Shed pool and Pwll Hughes for the past couple of years. It’s directed at a fixed depth marker obviously to gauge and keep check of the river height. I’m assuming it’s the property and controlled by the EA Once the fishing kicks off we regularly make the 100 mile round trip on average 3 times a week. By living that far away we cannot accurately judge when it’s fishable at night, for instance as the river fines down after a flood and many wasted journeys have resulted over the years. My question is this. Would it be possible for the club to approach the EA and ask if it’s possible to gain access to the cameras live images? If it’s technically possible and permission was granted, the club could offer members a link to it through its website. I would be interested in any thoughts regarding this
Cheers, Royn

That is a good idea!
We have members from all over the uk and south wales. This could prove a big help to them when deciding to venture out or not. The Association will contact the Environment Agency with regards to this.

Oggy876,
Further to your post regarding river levels and how anglers are able to find out about river conditions, I am pleased to confirm that EAW have just launched 'Rivercall'.
This scheme is designed so that anglers can get up to date information regarding river levels and whether levels are rising or falling.
The river Ogmore is included in this scheme the phone number is:
0906 619 7755
But beware that this service costs 60p/min !!
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you regarding your post, but I was aware that this scheme was in the pipeline and wanted to ensure that the Ogmore was included.
