Myself and OAA club member Had 2 days on the Whiteadder River. After a road trip of 470 miles I had arrived. Weather was great when we arrived and the river running about 18" plus.Conditions were perfect as you can get. Started fishing yellow /black ally tubes on sinktips. No fish were showing through out the day, and we both started to ring the changes with various flies and tubes. At 4:30 in the afternoon with no fish I said to Jim this is the witching hour, so he tied on one of my tubes that were made up for the trip and it happened the first Springer of the season on the Whiteadder a thingy fish of about 7 pounds and silver to. Fish was returned fit and healthy. On the second day a fished moved to my fly but did not take. But a least Jim caught the first one of the season on my fly. Jim with the fresh springer and Mink's look's on.
