Myself and club member Jim fished the South Esk at Brechin, Scotland for 3 days on the 19th October. River was below summer level-no very good for a spate river. Fish were showing but refused small shrimp flies. Then on the 19th at dusk saw a fresh 6 pounder jump in the Seat Pool and on the 2nd cast the hen fish took my shrimp fly with joy. Fish released naturally. In the night the heavens opened up and the river rose by 3ft and was choco with leaves and branches. Fishing was stopped on Wednesday and we packed up and fished the Whiteadder on the way home, where I landed a coloured thingy fish and lost another. Jim fishing the Seat Pool where I took the 6 pounder in the tail of the pool. The Weir Pool breached by the floods of last season Looking down to the Corner Pool,Jim on the very end of the pool. Buck tail anyone ! sewinfly............
