Could anyone give me advice on fly fishing for bass?? I know how to ledger for them but have never tried on the fly. What flies are worth trying and what line should you use. Where, when and what time of the tide? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Dave

Hi David,
There are better anglers on here to answer you in respect of the Ogmore but I'll try to help.
You should be looking to fish gulleys, tidal races and estuarial features with flies imitating sand eels, baitfish etc - clousers, surf candy and deceivers being the immediate thoughts. Little redgills/waggletails are also great cast with a fly rod. Times of the day would generally be a couple of hours either side of high tide. I've only caught bass on fly with intermediate 7/8 weight outfits but you can use floaters or sinkers depending on the water depth you're fishing - just like a river really.
You can glean an absolute shed-load of info from the ukswff forums. On Hoppy or TT's forums there's a chap PV Jensen who runs the UKSWFF site.
As I said - others may guide you better on the Og's idiosyncratic points but the above is some general advice I'd say to anyone wanting to start SWFFing for bass.
Jon
