Chrisfly,
hopefully there will be 3500-4000 salmon parr ready to be stocked early next year. Although our aim this season is to catch enough fish to enable us to to stock 10 times this amount for the next few years.
With regards to poaching there are a few scenarios:
1) If you witness obvious poaching ring the Environment Agency hotline followed by the club bailiffs
2) If you witness illegal rod and line anglers who are not displaying a club permit, ring the club bailiffs.
3) If you are happy to check for EA rod licences and subsequently a person has not got one, you should ring the EA hotline. But do not put yourself in any potential danger when checking for licences.
4) If you witness members breaking club byelaws ring the club bailiffs.
All members have been provided with a contact card with the relevant number on.
If you are interested in becoming a club bailiff you can attend the open evening on 1st may at the conservartive club bridgend at 7.30 pm
Hope this is of help.

Ask any Association/fishing related question you want. Another forum member or Council member will do thier best to answer. DOES THE E.A. PUT ANY FISH INTO THE OGMORE, I.E BROOD STOCKING, OR IS IT ALL DOWN TO THE CLUB?

Unfortunately the EA does not finance any brood stocking initiatives on the river Ogmore, so this is financed by Association funds.
The EA are not in favour of brood stocking generally. They do not support sea trout stocking and only partially support salmon stocking.

To answer your question, in short we own the rights to the waters that our members fish, otherwise our members would not be advised to fish them.

Is the river Ewenny going to be stocked with brown trout this season. If not ,why not. The association appear to be stocking less and less of the club waters thereby restricting the areas that can be fishedfor browns. As we own the fishing rights on the Ewenny it would make sense to utilise this river which has easy access for the members who are not so agile.
